Playing Media with ALLPlayer.
This guide is provided to help you play back your audio and video files with ALLPlayer.
(I will be using the „Standard” skin for this guide, but you should find most or all of the icons I use on other skins also.)
File Type Association
The easiest way to use ALLPlayer to playback files is to associate the appropriate file extension (.avi, .mp3, .mkv, etc) with ALLPlayer. This will enable you to playback any associated file by simply double clicking the media file. You are prompted during installation to associate all types of media files with ALLPlayer automatically, but if you did not, you can manage which file types ALLPlayer is associated with in the ALLPlayer Toolbar. You may also right click any media file and choose Open With… from the context menu. This will allow you to open your file with ALLPlayer either once, or to make it the default application for that file type.
Setting File Assocations from within ALLPlayer:
- Open ALLPlayer using its desktop icon, its Start Menu shortcut, or QuickLaunch button.
- Open the „ALLPlayer Toolbar” window by clicking on the tools icon in the black portion of the standard interface. It is located on the right side between the X icon and the enlarge/reduce icon and looks like a hammer and wrench crossed.
- Once the ALLPlayer Toolbar window appears, click the „Settings” selection in the left hand menu to show the Settings options sub-menu.
- Click „Files extension” to show the „File Formats” screen.
- On this screen you can select which file extensions you wish to have associated with ALLPlayer as well as whether you would like ALLPlayer to be your defualt DVD playback software.
Using the File Open Function
- Open ALLPlayer using its desktop icon, its Start Menu shortcut, or QuickLaunch button.
- Once the interface displays, click the folder icon located in the black portion of the interface near the right, between the EQ(equalizer) icon and the txt folder (subtitles) icon.
- Select the type of media file you would like to open from the options provided.
- Once the File Open.. dialog opens, you can navigate on your system to the file you would like to play and select it.
- Your file should begin playback automatically.
Using the FlowList Visual Browser
- Open ALLPlayer using its desktop icon, its Start Menu shortcut, or QuickLaunch button.
- If your skin has a FlowList button, you may use it to open the FlowList visual browser. If not, FlowList can be accessed at any time during playback by clicking the FlowList button in the lower right corner of the playback onscreen controls.
- Use the FlowList visual browser to locate the media you wish to load and click the icon associated with it.
- Your file should begin playback automatically.
